  1. How The Watch Works

I got this watch to measure distance, calorie count, type of exertion for water aerobic classes, and it seems to work well in those areas. The battery if the watch is worn continuously lasts about 5 days. I have difficulty getting my Mac to recognize the watch when it has been connected to the USB charge cord. However, my biggest problem with this watch is something in the strap material causes a rash on my wrist if I continue to wear it after swimming even after I have cleaned & dried the strap!!!
  2. Good interval timer

I've used it a lot training for half marathon with interval training, and the timer works well. For what I use, I've had no issues and would recommend it
  3. Great training tool!

Love it! Very versatile fitting all my training needs.
  4. Good product but too expensive

Couple of years later and I am still using it at work too. Good product but too expensive.
  5. Get a flashlight

The light is so dim it’s maddeing which is sad because it has some really cool features. But unless I have a flashlight or I’m outside you can’t read the goofy thing. My husband has one too with identical issues.
  6. WASTE OF $

Really, they stopped talking to my phone after 2 weeks. Took me a while to pair them again as the app would not find them, but after a few more times, they would not be visible for the app at all.Scratched pretty quickly in corners, but the overall screen was fine. I liked that you don't have to worry about water when living your life. Hut tub, pool, lakes - good to go.Swimming app is only good for pool - you have to put pool size in watch in order to trac activity so it is not good cjhoice to track your lake swimming activities.
  7. 5 stars

    Absolutely love it.
  8. Super watch does it all!

I have had this watch since November 2017 and it's performed surprisingly well! Lots of activity tracking options. I have used the running, biking, swimming and walking options. All worked flawlessly. Heart rate monitor and sleeping feature work as expected. Smart notifications for texts, emails, alerts and calls are also very good and easy to see. The connectivity to my phone's music app is awesome. I can control volume and song skip/repeat. I've used this watch in subtropical pacific island with extreme high temperatures and humidity (and swimming in ocean waters) as well sub zero temperatures in Pacific Northwest winters. The watch has kept on keeping on! It's durable, easy to use and lightweight! Using the watch 3-4 times per week, 1 hour per activity, with GPS engaged, battery lasts about 8-9 days before recharge. This watch was well worth the sale price I paid for it (Best Buy, Nov. 2017) and would highly recommend it!... it's a great product! I'm seriously considering buying another one for my son.
  9. I'd buy it again!

When i finally decided to purchase a smart watch i needed it to do a few specific functions. #1 it had to be water proof since i was going to use is primarily to swim. Second, it needed to record sleep activity, and of course I needed the heart rate feature. The Garmin Vivoactive HR had all of those features....PLUS.I almost returned it after I received it. I wore it for a few days and it HURT. I'm not even kidding you. I had to keep switching it from wrist to wrist because of the PAIN. I'm not even joking here. I even googled "Vivofit painful to wear" and I am NOT the only one. Idk if it's because I'm a small female with thin wrists and this is a bulky watch, or if its the sensor, but it hurt like a B****! It took about 2 weeks of switching it back and forth on my wrists before it finally didn't bother me any more. I now wear it comfortably on my left wrist.Which brings me to my next point, ladies, it's a bulky watch. If you're looking for something dainty and feminine, this is NOT it. Especially if you are thin and petite. Because it's bulkier than I am accustomed to I have whacked it off walls and counters a number of times, BUT let this be a testament to it's durability! Knock on wood, no cracks, no chips no problems! it takes a lickin and keeps on tickin! As far as it's durability, while it can take a beating, the band does seem to stretch. (it's rubber) I've also heard this is a common issue with other users as well. I seem to be running out of room to clasp it. Also, it leaves a big dent in your wrist where the sensor is.So with all these complaints what's good about it? Guys, everything! I make people so jealous with this baby! And really, the cons are far out weighed by the pros!I don't like to read instructions. Who has time for all that, so i'm always finding little easter eggs either in the watch itself or in the app. This gives you SO much information it's AMAZING! The watch as well as the app are very user friendly. There are a number of preloaded work outs, or you can add your own. You can edit EVERYTHING. It can track your sleep, light, deep and times awake. Heart rate, lows and highs. Step counter. It's water proof and tracks your meters or yards-how ever you set it. It has GPS so you can opt to turn it on to track your runs or other activities. You even have the option to connect with other users to share data such as bike and running trails and detailed info about your workouts. It connects easily with other apps which will allow you to track your weight, caloric intake, etc.One of the easter eggs I found recently that i really like, if you stop your watch after a work out then wait 2min before saving, it will give you your "recovery heart rate". Super cool. The stair trackers isn't accurate. I will say that. I have a two story home and I'm up and down the stairs all day long but it will say I'd gone up once and down 5 times. I've tried running up them, bouncing, you name it, I can't figure out the secret to it's accuracy. But it doesn't bother me any. It does not track heart rate while swimming. But as far as I've read no other watch does yet either. The watch can be connected to your phone which will allow it to show you when someone is calling by showing the phone number (not the calller's name), it will bring up your text messages to read-that WILL show the senders name as well as the actual message. If your phone accepts any kind of alerts, they will be sent to the watch as well. You can also access local weather.I have friends with fitbits, and itouch's and various smart watches that cost double and triple what the vivoactive costs and they are ALWAYS envious of the Garmins features and abilities. This watch was WELL worth every penny spent on it and I would buy it again without a doubt. This baby is BAD A$$!
  10. Too big for a female wrist :-/

It like the features and functionality of this watch but it’s jusy too big and clunky looking for a female wrist! Because of this I only wear it to the gym to log my workouts. I wish I had gotten the smaller version because I’d like to track my daily activity besides the gym. Too late to return tho :(
