Use it every dayhave used it as an extra drive. Great.
Better than the Lexar S45 Jumpdrive which blink blue and is slimmer than this. This is one of two USB 3.0 jumpdrives I've used. The other is a Lexar 128gb S45. This one I bought a month after the Lexar. Sometime back to August-September 2017 so less than two years of use by far as of this review.Of these two, this Samsung Fit, I never had to call customer service for a replacement much less a replacement for a replacement. 150mbps read&writeUsed in the GPD Win 1st gen model(mostly,USB 3.0), Samsung Rv511(USB 2.0 only), and an Acer Aspire 5 (USB 3.0) No slowdowns on the 3.0 ports. Unfortunately on occasion it's not read on the GPD Win at some points had to do a full shutdown and restart it which is the PC's fault.Highly recommended. Better yet get the current models that go up to 256gb.
Fast, but it stalls for seconds at a timeI bought this to put a Linux installation on, so I could use it on multiple computers. It works for that - sort of. It boots up reasonably quickly, but sometimes it gets stuck for up to 10 seconds, doing nothing. I know it's this device, because I did the exact same installation on a SanDisk 128 GB, and don't have the problem there.
It's decent. You'll never get USB3 speeds on it, but that's expectedLike many people, I saw the "USB3" rating and was like, "Wow, I am gonna get such fast rates on this! 600MB/s!!!" Well, duh, you won't get that with a USB drive. However, I can say that I do get faster transfer rates connecting this to my computer's USB3 port than when I connect it to the USB2 port. Speed is about 2-3x faster, in fact. I copied a 4GB file to the drive and it was going at about 30-40MB/s, which means it was done just under 2 minutes. Not the 600MB/s I was expecting, but 2 minutes is perfectly fine.
Unbelievable fast storage in this little deviceHonestly when I first saw this I didn't believe it was possible, but it is! This device is amazingly small and so fast at transferring data. I use it with my Macbook Pro which has SSD so that probably helps a bit with data transfer speeds but still this thing is amazing. So compact that I just keep it plugged in to the side of my device all the time and it never gets in the way of anything. Makes is super convenient and there's always a time when you need a usb but often people don't have them handy. I bought a second one after I liked the first so much!
Nice and fast, and small.Small enough to leave plugged into my laptop full time if I so choose. The speed is very fast and I've not had any trouble with this over the year or so I've been using it. My only issue (no fault of it's own) is losing it if I'm not careful, definitely best to plug it in and only move it when you're plugging it into something else.
:)I would recommend bigger size!
